System Integrating BiopharmaceuticalSolution In One Platform
Material Description
Gaskets Encapsulated with FEP are designed to address the growing problem of sealing in the most hostile chemical and temperature environments. Unispares flagship FERG Series combines the best qualities of two materials, FEP on the outside with its chemical inertness and an elastomeric Rubber on the inside for resilience. This unique combination forms a highly effective, longlasting seal for the most demanding applications in repeat use applications. Excellent seal ability to variable Torque loads.
FERG Gaskets are available in over many standard sizing options from 15 mm – 12500 mm outer shell. Standard FERG Gaskets are comprised of FEP over FDA Engineered Rubber Insert and can be used in temperatures from -60° to +260°C depending upon the choice of elastomeric core. Encapsulated Gaskets are primarily used as a static seal (axial or radial).

---|---|---|
Mechanical Properties | Higher tensile strength and Wear Resistant | Lower Tensile Strength |
FDA & cGMP Audit Observations/ Guidelines | Zero usage of any form of PTFE tapes & chemical bonding agents | Joint ends will stat leakage over a period of time |
Life of Gasket | 8-10 x times Life compared to conventional Elastomer/ Non Asbestos Filler/ Virgin PTFE/ Others | Reduced life due to compatibility with aggressive media and solvents |
Compression/ Recovery | Moderate – this facilitates frequent opening and closure applications | Higher – this reduces repeated use applications |
Compatibility | Near to Universal Compatibility for both Outer layer & Inner core (Fair Resistance to solvents/ acids like HCL, Sulphuric Acid, Toluene, MDC) | Limited compatibility |
Application | Suitable for Repeated Opening and closing operations | Limited use applications |
